AGON PRO AG344UXM: 34-inch mini LED monitor announced

Last Updated:

AOC have announced yet another high-end monitor its its AGON Pro ranks – this time utilizing the ever-popular mini LED backlight technology. The new monitor is set to hit shelves next month and will do so at an eye-watering price tag of £1,429.99.

AOC has been quick out of the blocks this year with new monitor releases, bringing a plethora of options to market which were headed by the impressive AOC Porsche Design PD32M – a 4K 144Hz gaming monitor we reviewed a few weeks ago.

Like the Porsche Design, the new AGON Pro AG344UXM will also feature the ever-popular mini LED backlight technology – enabling the panel to deliver far greater HDR performance. Additionally, AOC’s new flagship 34-inch monitor will also come equipped with a high-performance IPS panel that delivers 1000 nits of peak luminance, VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification, and 10-bit image processing.

According to the AOC’s Chinese press release, the AG344UXM will feature 1,152 local dimming zones, 99% DCI-P3 coverage, and a 3440 x 1440 resolution. Better yet, claims of a 1ms GTG response time (take that with a pinch of salt), 170Hz refresh rate, and HDMI 2.1 support are also expected.

Speaking of ports, users can also expect a 4-port USB hub with USB Type-B upstream, DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.1, and USB Type-C – great for linking laptops and Macbooks to this screen.

When will the AGON Pro AG344UXM release?

Specifications aside, one of the big questions surrounding this new ultrawide monitor is when will actually release? According to reports, the AG344UXM will hit shelves next month and will retail for a staggering £1,429.99.

While this does seem on the high side, it’s actually not too bad when compared against the market’s similarly spec’d mini LED alternatives. All being said, at well over £1,000, it still sits in the exotics section of the monitor price spectrum.
